Head Track & Field Coach
Mt. Blue High School
Job Goal(s):
The Mt. Blue Campus Head Track Coach oversees all aspects of the track program for grades 9- 12. It is a seasonal part-time position, involving afternoons and some nights and weekends.
Qualifications
1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total track and field program. 2. Has previous successful coaching experience in track and field. 3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of track and field, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport. 4. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
Certifications
Valid CHRC
Performance Responsibilities
1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the RSU 9 Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the track and field program. 2. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements them consistently and interprets them for staff and athletes. 3. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
Education
The coach must be at least 20 years of age, or a high school graduate.
Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of the sport is preferred as well as knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures. Knowledge of MPA Rules. Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
Working Schedule
Flexible after school and weekend hours required for scheduled practices and meets both home and away.
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.
Evaluation: Director of Athletics
FLSA Status: Exempt/Non-exempt
